My circumstances:
I am a office worker living in the Midlands, I had over £22,000 of debt. I got in to debt by spending too much on credit cards, got a loan and also having to pay for my wedding.
My interaction with the company:
I was quite nervous about phoning and telling someone just how much I was in debt. I had not told anyone and it was really getting to me, but when i plucked up the courage to phone Debtmatters, they were so helpful and most of all, they didnt judge me. They suggested all kinds of solutions but advised me that an IVA would be the best step. I filled in an application form and sent it back. Within only a few weeks the ball was set in motion and the meeting with the creditors was arranged. My proposal was accepted with only minor changes to the IVA.
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I rated them 10 out of 10 because i believe there is nothing more they could of done for me.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Talked me through every step making sure i understood but not in a patronising way.

Other points
I am much better off now, i dont have to constantly look at my bank account and wonder if i have enough money in the bank to cover my bills. I am now trying to save, even a little so i can buy those luxuries that i can now afford. Debtmatters wrote off approx £7000.

    Good Points
    Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
    The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
    A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
