My circumstances:
single parent living in council accomodation owing approx 29k. i have no assets and have since discovered Bankrupcy would have been a better option, not the IVA they sold me.

IVA.com reports: Debt Free Direct has contacted this individual via Iva.com to discuss their comments. Debt Free Direct have advised that they have made significant improvements to their customer service to ensure that their clients receive the highest level of service. More recent customer reviews of their service can be found on their website www.debtfreedirect.co.uk/reviews/.

My interaction with the company:
DFD where very good when I first spoke with them, but their customer service went downhill dramaically once my IVA had gone through. On one occassion I experienced difficulty with my payments, and was offered no assistance or understanding, but was called at work and threatened with my IVA failing and being refered to collections debt if I didnt pay up immedietly- nice!!!!
Why I gave the ratings I did:
The staff are pretty clueless on insolvency, they all give conflicting advice. When I originally calculated my budget I estimated I could afford £200 per month, they insisted I payed £250 or my IVA would be rejected. They really do seem to be only interested in selling IVAs even if its not in the clients best interest, I was never fully explained how Bankrupcy worked. The fees are not made clear until the final stage when you receive your proposal, and they are very high, over £5,000 in my case
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Nothing!
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
They should remember that they are speaking to their clients, who are in fact paying a lot of money for their service, a bit of respect and customer service woudl go a long way, not to mention some staff training.
Other points
I will continue with my IVA I do however wish I had taken independent advice before entering into this or making any
decision.

Good Points
Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
