My circumstances:
I am a manager and i had 45k of personal debt.Heaven knows how it got out of hand. It came to a point when i was paid each month instead of looking forward to it i was getting depressed as although i could pay my bills i had nothing left and had to use my cards just to put food on the table. I have a joint mortgage with my husband and no equity in the house.
My interaction with the company:
i contacted national debt reief on the internet. i couldnt talk to anyone i was so embarrassed. I the got a phone call from MCD. Of course it took me a week to answer thier calls i thought there was nothing that could be done for me. When i finally spoke to Andy Brown he was sympathetic understanding and through my tears he found a way to make me feel better about myself. He sent me some forms and the rest just seem to happen in a blur until the day of the IVA hearing. The upshot was barclaycard wanted an uplift of £25 and they phoned me to see if i would accept. ACCEPT i was paying out £1300 per month and my IVA......£475 per month for 5 years. I have my life back and in 5 years time i will be totally debt free. Probably never be able to get a credit card again but after this i dont ever want one.
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I spoke to a few people at the IP's and everyone of them were empathetic. They didnt judge me and kept me fully informed throughout the whole process.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
They didnt give up on me even though i had given up on myself. I didnt have a clue what could be done for my situation but they made everything so simple
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:

Other points
The total write off will be £27500, unless i have major wage increases and as i said i will be debt free in 5 years

    Good Points
Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
