| My circumstances: |
| i am a manager living in merseyside with debts of 93k and 30k equity in property went for a joint iva with husband |
| My interaction with the company: |
| contacted debt councillors in july who forwarded us to synergi who told us we had 2 options iva or bankruptcy, started on proposal changed the payments from 350 upto 533 per month advised us to start paying upfront as would look good towards iva, after 3 months told us there was a backlog but keep paying had creditors meeting 18th december they were unsure if it was going to be accepted because of our 2 biggest creditors, adjourned they wanted a further 118 a month bringing the monthly contribution to 618, they had given us the bare minimum to live on as was, agreed to cancel life insurances although stipulation of mortgage as requested, telephoned me back and said one of our biggest creditors wouldnt agree anyway so no point going any further and no money to be reurned to us after paying them £1566, up until the point of contacting them we had not missed any payments and are now 5 months not paying any creditors everything in default, out of pocket they still wanted us to continue paying and put us back to debt councillors and arrange a DMP which we were told in the first place wouldnt be accepted, i feel i have been totally let down and i am still awaiting any paperwork returned and the rejection papaer work for the iva |
| Why I gave the ratings I did: |
| i gave them 1/10 as i felt let down and ripped off 93k in debt and no further forward was in a no win situation with them as they had no incentive to get my iva accepted as they were always going to be paid no matter what happened. i feel they knew from the outset as they said they were unsure on one of the creditors that this was going to fail |

| refund payments, and not to take advantage of people at a vulnerable time, if they are to ask for up front fees it should be written down that this wont be refunded if you have paid into it less than £2500 as they verbally told me after the rejection, at no time did they tell me i wouldnt receive payments back even though i asked several times was this service costing me and how much. |

| i am now having to go bankrupt and lose my family home, defaulted with majority of credit companies and i am seeking alternative ip advice, didnt make token payments as advised, my dividened was to be 45 in the £ with a div of 17 to the £ in bankruptcy |

| Comment: DO NOT GO TO SYNERGI....THEY ARE COMPLETELY RUINING OUR LIVES...ENTERED INTO IVA...HAD DIFFICULTIES...HAVE NOT MADE PAYMENT FOR NEARLY 2 YEARS!!! ..NOW DEBT RECOVERY COMPANIES ARE BUYING UP OUR DEBTS IN BIG CHUNKS THEREBY GIVING THEM A LARGE CHUNK TO VOTE WITH...OUR VARIATION MEETINGS KEEP GETTING ADJOURNED....THEY TOLD US THIS WEEK THAT WE CHOOSE TO GET INTO DEBT AND WE WERE TO DEAL WITH IT...DONT USE THEM...THEY ARE MAKING US ILL WITH WORRY!! | ||

| Comment: I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE I ENTERED INTO AN IVA WITH THEM. OUR IVA WAS OK'D EARLY AUGUST AND TO DATE NONE OF OUR CREDITORS HAVE NOT RECIEVED ANY OF THE £1000 PER MONTH WE ARE PAYING - I HAVE EMAILED THE COMPANY ASKING FOR ACTION AND HAD NO RESPONSE. GOING FOR AN IVA IS A DIFFICULT DECISION TO TAKE AT THE BEST OF TIMES AND TO STILL HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE GRIEF WE ARE GETTING FROM CRDITIORS IS NOT REALLY ON. | ||

| Comment: Terrible experience. Sorry to hear you were ripped off although if you want to do an IVA the proposed return was very good, so try a smaller IP & do not pay anything upfront. PS if they do not have the £2.5K term in writing, suee the gits for it. | ||

| Comment: I doubt that this is a real case as it isnt the Insolvency Practitioner that asks for more money but the creditors and KPMG are one of the companies that are always requesting a minimum monthly payment regardless of circumstances of the client. | ||
