we had 80k of debt that built up over a number of years.
we had 50k writen off following acceptance of the iva

If I had done the IVA I would have repaid 100% of my debts, despite this I was shocked that I had to cancel my Pension and BUPA contributions and monthly allowances were very low. My daughter is recieving private treatment for a broken back so cancelling BUPA was not an option. I am now looking into a DMP which will pay back over 6.5 years but at a lower monthly payment.

still in iva plan, will be for a while but has taught me alot about having credit cards & loans, and if your out of work let the companies know before you get into a mess with everything so they can help you sort out a repayment that suits you comfortably even if it takes time to repay it, it has to be better than going the harder route
