heard advert on radio, and visited their internet site. on the first telephone call and all the way through, i never once felt judged. there can be a lot of shame in losing control of your finances, but i was not looked down upon in any dealings with them. i was visited by an ip, who was friendly and explained exactly my options. he ran through my financial statement with me and kept me very upbeat along the whole way. my proposal was accepted a few weeks later, when i was informed of the outcome by a telephone call the same day.

After i put my details on a website i was contacted by a company called Bains & Ernst ltd (part of Blair Endersby ltd) after talks a IVA was recommended and the advisor told us payments would be about £200 per month X 62 payments with the firs two for them. After signing the authorisation form and giving them the first payment we were past on to Blair Endersby who told us it would be 60 payments of £375 per month then they sent us the proposed summary to sign it had gone up to £428 per month. at which time we pulled out as our minimum payments on our debt was not much more and paying £25,680 on a £30,000 debt i felt that with wage increases each year it was not worth it.

I am a company director, I had 50k debt with 70k equity. I was told that a one year IVA would be best for me - this was bad advise as the cost to complete the IVA by maintaining it over that period and the cost to borrow to pay the debt was not cost effective. The other problem was the demage to my credit rating, I was encouraged to default on debts. The worse thing I ever did was go the IVA route, I never fully grasped the downsides,I am still trying to get the whole mess sorted out. I am a 79 year old widower, living alone. I was previously on Debt Management Programmes with Money Tailor and One Debt Solutions paying £243 per month on debts of around £45k. I had hoped originally to pursue the IVA route but was told by both that it was not an option

    Good Points
Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
